Seamus Power has plenty of reasons to be positive after a strong week at the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour.
The Irishman finished T11 after 72-holes on Sunday, with signs of his strongest form returning after a stellar week.
Seamus Power began his Farmers Insurance Open campaign alongside Lanto Griffin and Mackenzie Hughes on Thursday, getting off to an incredibly strong start early on in the tournament.
The Irishman opened with a brilliant round of 65 (-7), shooting him into the Top 5 of the leaderboard after his opening 18 holes. Although eventual winner Justin Rose led from wire-to-wire, Power was in contention every day at Torrey Pines.
Power’s Friday round was another impressive one, shooting -6 par with a round of 66 to put him within four shots and just one place of the lead on a score of -13 par at the half-way point.
However, Saturday was a disappointing day for the Waterford man, who lost touch with the leaders after a poor 74 (+2 par) on moving day. Instead of closing in on Rose at the summit, Power fell the other way.

There were more positive signs for Power on Sunday though with a final round of 71 (-1), meaning he finished in a tie for 11th place alongside six other players.
Although Power looked like a shoe-in for a top 10 finish almost the entire week at Torrey Pines, he just missed out but still pocketed a tidy $193,028 in prize money for his troubles.
Power’s form at the Farmers Insurance Open last week was a great start in regaining his full PGA Tour card, which the 38-year-old aims to do this season after a poor year last term.
If the Las Vegas resident can replicate this kind of form in his next tournament on the PGA Tour, which is expected to be the Cognizant Classic at the end of February, he will be well on his way to regaining his full PGA Tour card come the end of the season.

Following his T11 finish at the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, Seamus Power has gained 20 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings.
The Irishman climbed from 167th to 147th in the official rankings, not to mention climbing up to 31st in the latest FedEx Cup Standings too.
Although the 2026 FedEx Cup is only in its infancy at the beginning of the season, there are plenty of reasons for Power to be pleased.
Not only did the Irishman make his first ever cut at the Farmers Insurance Open, but he showed real signs of his best form again. After a difficult year or two on the PGA Tour, Power showed he still has what it takes to compete with the best golfers in the world.

Power gained 58.714 FedEx Cup points following his four rounds at Torrey Pines which resulted in a T11 finish, meaning he now sits 31st in the overall standings on 84 points.
This is just one spot outside of the Top 30 who make the Tour Championship season finale come the end of the year, but there is still a lot of golf to be played between now and then.
Given his relatively poor performances on the PGA Tour in recent years, Power will need to play exceptionally well in the tournaments he does participate in.
A third PGA Tour victory and first since 2021 would be a major help in assisting Power to regain his full PGA Tour Card come the conclusion of the 2026 season at the end of the year.
