Padraig Harrington is set to hit an impressive milestone this week in what will be his 500th start on the DP World Tour.
The Irishman is set to make his 500th appearance on the European Tour at the 2026 Qatar Masters.
After posting a steady Thursday score at the Bahrain Championship last week, Padraig Harrington ended up missing the cut after a disappointing round on Friday on the DP World Tour.
Last week marked Harrington’s 499th appearance on the European Tour, now called the DP World Tour, meaning he is just one event away from joining the 500 club.
That appearance is set to come this week, as the three-time major champion prepares to tee it up at the 2026 Qatar Masters in Doha on Thursday.
The Irishman will be hoping for a stronger week this week, at least making the 36-hole cut and playing the weekend at Doha Golf Club in the Middle East.

Harrington’s first tee shot on Thursday will mark the 500th time he has participated in a European Tour event. This is quite the milestone for the Irish golfing legend, showcasing his longevity and ability at the highest level over a career spanning over 30 years.
The Dubliner made his European Tour debut back in 1995, and has since won 43-times all around the world. This includes 15 European Tour titles, six PGA Tour wins and of course his three majors, including back-to-back Open Championships.
The 54-year-old will begin his Qatar Masters campaign in his 500th DP World Tour appearance alongside English duo Matt Wallace and Andy Sullivan on Thursday. They begin Round 1 with a 8.35am GMT tee time.
Harrington will be hoping for a strong week to mark his 500th DP World Tour start, and will be confident of at least making the cut and playing the weekend in Doha. Who knows, he could even go on to win it!

As Padraig Harrington makes his 500th DP World Tour start, he is set to join an illustrious list of golfers who have made at least 500 appearances on the European Tour.
The three-time major champion will also become just the fifth Irish golfer in history to achieve this feat. The only men from the Emerald Isle who have made 500 European Tour starts to this day are Paul McGinley, Eamon n Darcy, Des Smyth and Philip Walton.
Some other notable players who already occupy the DP World Tour 500 club are Lee Westwood, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Colin Montgomerie, Bernhard Langer and Darren Clarke to name but a few.

David Howell currently holds the record for the most DP World Tour appearances with over 720 starts. Harrington will become just the 47th golfer in history to reach 500 starts on the European Tour.
The 54-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down either, having won two majors on the senior tour last year. Although he hasn’t won on the DP World Tour since the Portugal Masters back in 2016, Harrington still regularly competes week in, week out with some of the world’s best golfers.
Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy revealed his career ambitions recently, and joining Harrington in the DP World Tour 500 club might well be one of his targets before retiring from the sport for good.
The career Grand Slam winner still has a long way to go before he reaches that milestone though.
