Rory McIlroy has featured not once but twice in a LIV Golf League promotional video on social media.
The career Grand Slam winner features alongside his fellow PGA Tour pros in an ironic promo video ahead of the new LIV Golf season.
Rory McIlroy Features Twice In LIV Golf Promo Video
To say that Rory McIlroy has been critical of LIV Golf ever since its inception would be a massive understatement.
The five-time major champion recently called for LIV players to pay their DP World Tour fines, including Ryder Cup teammates Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm.
The Northern Irishman is evidently not a fan of LIV, and feels it has worked the opposite way as it should have done. McIlroy is all for anything rowing the game of golf and the sport as a whole, which LIV may have done somewhat.
However, it’s no secret that McIlroy has remained a PGA Tour stalwart throughout the entire process. The irony of McIlroy’s feud with LIV is rather humorous, especially after LIV released a brand new promotional video which featured the career Grand Slam winner.

McIlroy featured not once but twice in LIV’s latest promo video. He wasn’t the only PGA Tour player who featured, in fact there were plenty of others. The entire promo video actually only includes PGA Tour players mentioning LIV Golf.
The likes of McIlroy, the great Tiger Woods, 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus, Justin Rose and Jordan Spieth are just some of the names in the LIV Golf promo video.
These aren’t exactly names you’d expect to see linked with LIV Golf in any capacity, but that didn’t stop the Saudi Arabia-backed golf league from leaning into the rivalry with the PGA Tour with a provocative promo.
McIlroy, who hilariously mocked Patrick Cantlay at the 2025 Ryder Cup in new unseen footage, is one of several elite PGA Tour players included in the latest promo video.
As ever, LIV Golf continues to divide opinion, and this latest promo video only poured further fuel on the fire.

Could Rory McIlroy Join LIV Golf?
In short, no. There is zero chance that Rory McIlroy will ever join the LIV Golf League.
The Northern Irishman was reportedly offered hundreds of millions of dollars to join LIV when they first launched a few years ago, but turned their numerous offers down in favour of sticking with the PGA Tour.
The fact that McIlroy has been front and centre on the PGA Tour’s side throughout the entirety of the feud with LIV Golf is enough reason to believe the five-time major champion would never ditch the PGA Tour for LIV under any circumstance.

The main reason for players to defect to LIV was totally monetary. McIlroy already has more money than he’ll ever need, so there is absolutely no benefit whatsoever of him teaming up with LIV.
Another reason is that ‘Rors’ remains one of the best players in the world, unlike the majority of the LIV roster. Although there are a few exceptions like Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, the majority of LIV Golf players are those of yesteryear.
McIlroy recently gave a brutally honest assessment of Brooks Koepka’s PGA Tour return, and has welcomed his fellow five-time major champion back to the PGA Tour with open arms.
However, Koepka’s return wasn’t without penalty, which McIlroy feels is only fair for their decision to defect to LIV in the first place.
