Seamus Power will begin his 2026 Farmers Insurance Open campaign alongside Mackenzie Hughes and Lanto Griffin at Torrey Pines.
The Irishman is playing in his third consecutive PGA Tour event after featuring at both the Sony Open and The American Express already this month.
Seamus Power is set to make his third PGA Tour start of the 2026 campaign as he tees it up at Torrey Pines for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday evening.
The Irishman missed this event last year, with his last showing at the event coming two years ago in the 2024 edition. The 38-year-old missed the cut on that occasion, and also missed the cut on his only other appearance at the Farmers Insurance Open back in 2021.
This tournament evidently hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Power, but the two-time PGA Tour winner aims to put that right this week by making it third time lucky.
The Waterford man has made the cut on both the opening two PGA Tour events of the year, coming in a tie for 31st at the Sony Open in Hawaii before a T63 finish last week at The American Express, some 14 shots behind dominant winner Scottie Scheffler.

Power will be hopeful of his first made cut this week at the Farmers Insurance Open, as well as earning some much needed FedEx Cup points. The Irishman no longer has ‘fully exempt’ status on the PGA Tour, after earning a conditional card for the 2026 PGA Tour season.
In order to regain his full PGA Tour status, Power will need several strong performances in the coming weeks and months. He will be open this week at Torrey Pines, where there is a star-studded field in action on the South Course from January 29-February 1.
Although he is unlikely to win the event, a top 10 or top 20 finish for Power would be a strong week’s work. His -13 par four rounds last week at The American Express had plenty of positives, which the Tooraneena man will be hoping to replicate this week in California.

Seamus Power begins his 2026 Farmers Insurance Open campaign in a three-ball alongside Canadian Mackenzie Hughes and American Lanto Griffin for the first two rounds at Torrey Pines.
The Irishman is set to tee off at 6.16pm GMT for Round 1 on Thursday on the South Course, before taking to the fairways for Round 2 on Friday with a 5.10pm GMT tee off.
The Waterford native will be hoping to get off to a flying start at this year’s Farmers Insurance Open and will be looking to post the lowest 36-hole score of his three-ball come the conclusion of Friday’s round.

With both Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry opting against playing this week on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, Power is one of just two Irish golfers in action across both major professional golf tours.
Padraig Harrington is in action at the Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, with Power the only golfer from the Emerald Isle competing in American this week.
With Power not exactly in the strongest form of his career right now, a fast start and some early confidence would be very much welcomed by the 38-year-old.
