Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry lock horns in their second games of TGL Season 2 as Boston Common Golf and The Bay GC go head-to-head on Monday night.

McIlroy vs Lowry is the biggest match of the evening as the two Irish golf stars go head-to-head for their respective TGL sides.

Irish golf stars Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy are set to go head-to-head in the singles as Boston Common Golf and The Bay GC lock horns on Monday night in TGL Season 2.

McIlroy and Lowry have been paired against each other in the opening singles match at TGL, putting their friendship to one side for one night only as they look to get the better of one another.

McIlroy recently revealed his biggest golf ambitions before he calls it a day, one of which is to win an Olympic medal. Winning a season of TGL with Boston Common might also be high on his list of priorities, which could happen this year if they continue their strong start with a win over The Bay GC on Monday night.

McIlroy’s team triumphed in week one as he, Keegan Bradley and Michael Thorbjornsen defeated Los Angeles GC. This week they’ll be looking to go 2-0 against The Bay, who lost their season opener against reigning champions Atlanta Drive GC.

The career Grand Slam winner won his singles match against Justin Rose in gameweek one, and will this time be looking to beat another good friend of his as he aims to defeat Lowry in gameweek two.

The 2019 Open Championship winner halved his match with Patrick Cantlay in gameweek one, and will be confident of getting his first singles win of TGL Season 2 with victory over his good mate McIlroy at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida.

Rory McIlroy Makes First PGA Tour Start At Pebble Beach Pro-Am In February

After back-to-back tournaments in Dubai on the DP World Tour, Rory McIlroy’s next tournament besides appearing in TGL will be his first showing of the 2026 campaign on the PGA Tour.

McIlroy changed his clubs for the first time since 2017 with new TaylorMade irons, and will test them out for the first time on American soil from February 12-15 as he features at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The Northern Irishman is actually the defending champion at Pebble Beach, and will aim to retain his title at Spyglass Hill Golf Course in what will mark his first tournament on the PGA Tour this year.

The five-time major champion hasn’t played in America since the Ryder Cup back in September, where he received a lot of abuse from US golf fans at Bethpage Black in New York.

It remains to be seen whether or not McIlroy receives a good reception in mid-February in his first PGA Tour event of the year, or if the Ryder Cup saga will continue with American fans very much on his back.

If McIlroy is to successfully defend his Pebble Beach Pro-Am title, he will have to beat the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood and the returning Brooks Koepka to name but a few big names in the field.

McIlroy gave a brutally honest assessment of Koepka’s PGA Tour return early in the New Year, and will play against his fellow five-time major champion in an event outside of the majors on the PGA Tour for the first time in a few years.
