As Irish golf star Leona Maguire prepares for the new LPGA Tour season over Christmas, her next tournament and first appearance of 2026 has been confirmed.
Maguire’s next tournament sees the Irish golfer tee it up at the PIF Saudi Ladies International from 11-14 February.
Ireland’s Leona Maguire may not have won a tournament since July 2024, but that doesn’t mean last season was a poor one by any stretch of the imagination.
The Cavan golfer’s best finish last season was a tie for third at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, with her best major finish T7 at the Amundi Evian Championship back in October.
The signs are there for Maguire that she is once again knocking on the door of victory on both the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA Tour.
With the golf season over and not returning again until the new campaign in 2026, Maguire’s next tournament has been revealed with her first appearance of the new season confirmed.

Having not won in the past two years, the 31-year-old won’t tee it up at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in January.
Her first appearance on the LPGA Tour is likely to come in Thailand in late February at the Honda LPGA Thailand, with the events coming thick and fast after that.
However, Thailand won’t necessarily be Maguire’s first appearance of 2026 after confirming she will play at the 2026 PIF Saudi Ladies International in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 11-14 February.
Maguire will be hoping that a strong season on the course in 2026 could see her emulate the success of someone like Rory McIlroy, and perhaps even win her first RTE Sportsperson of the Year award come Christmas this time next year.

Leona Maguire’s first appearance of the new season will in fact be on the LET, with a $5million purse up for grabs in the season opener.
The Saudi Ladies International is one of the newer events on the LET, having first launched back in 2020.
Given the money the Saudis have invested in sports over the past few years, including heavily in golf, it is one of the most lucrative purses on offer of the entire year outside of the five majors and Group Tour Championship for the LPGA Tour finale.
The two-time LPGA Tour winner and former LET winner didn’t play at Riyadh Golf Club last year, but is set to tee it up for her season opener in mid-February next year.

If Maguire confirms her participation in the event, she will be up against a strong field of players including the likes of Charley Hull and plenty of other world-class golfers.
If the Cavan-born golfer decides to focus more on the LPGA Tour again this year, she may wait another week and make her 2026 return at the Honda LPGA Thailand instead.
With fellow Irish golf star Shane Lowry confirming retirement plans, Maguire’s popularity could increase as the focus shifts from the former major champion to her across the Emerald Isle.
