Troy Parrott has been linked with what would be a stunning return to the Premier League.
Leeds United were first linked with Parrott as recently as November as they reportedly considered a January transfer window swoop for the on form frontman.
It was then claimed, however, that the striker would refuse to make any sort of move to Elland Road in order to stay with AZ Alkmaar.
Parrott’s rich vein of form for both club and country has brought with it 20 goals in all competitions and that has brought plenty of eyes towards his services.
The 23-year-old impressed in the most recent international break with the Republic of Ireland and slammed home five goals in two matches to help clinch a World Cup 2026 qualifying playoff which will come in March against Czechia.
His run of form has been excellent and now reports in Spain have claimed that former club Tottenham Hotspur are lining up what would be an incredible £35million offer to land their former attacker.
It would be a serious turn up for the books considering the club sold Parrott for just £6.7m with the North London outfit seemingly prepared to spend more than times that fee now.
Spurs fans have pined for Parrott in recent weeks amid his goal scoring form while they are struggling, somewhat, in front of goal themselves.
Thomas Frank has only Richarlison up front scoring goals at this moment in time and even the Brazilian only has seven from 23 appearances.
Defender Micky van der Ven is the second top scorer with six.
Spurs have realistically had issues scoring since they sold Harry Kane and it remains to be seen whether or not, firstly, they will indeed move for Parrott, and secondly, he can do the business in the Premier League having spent most of his professional career outside the top flight.
Frank and Spurs may well face competition to land the player with VFB Stuttgart believed to be keen on his talents.
Reports in Germany suggest the Bundesliga outfit have identified the marksman as a possible transfer target as they look to bolster their attacking options for the rest of the season.
These reports claim that St Etienne’s Lucas Stassin is also a shortlisted candidate but he may have been priced out of a switch to Germany with his club demanding close to £40m for his services.
That price tag would be close to what AZ Alkmaar want for Parrott which would also apparently be difficult for Nick Woltemade’s former side to stump up.
Newcastle United star William Osula may also be an alternative to Parrott with the 22-year-old hoping to get more playing time than he has been afforded this term.
He has only made one start at St James’.
