Rangers latest transfer news has confirmed plenty of ongoing activity at Ibrox, with three players set to leave the club.
Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies, and Jose Cifuentes will play no part in Russell Martin’s rebuild, with the trio set to ply their trade in Turkey, England, and North America, respectively.
Former Besiktas left back Ridvan is set to rejoin his old club, with a return to Istanbul expected to be confirmed imminently. Rangers will receive around £2 million for the player, who is expected to be replaced.
With Jefte recently completing a move back to his homeland to join Palmeiras, Russell Martin turned to Jayden Meghoma to fill one of the berths on the left flank, and the 19-year-old showed his potential with a fine debut in the 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge this week.
Ben Davies is set to join English Championship side Oxford United, with the switch to the Kassam Stadium expected to be completed on Friday.
The former Liverpool squad player has been surplus to requirements from the outset of Russell Martin’s reign, but there will be disappointment at Ibrox that it is only a loan agreement for the upcoming season.
Davies’ contract is set to expire next summer, meaning there will be no return on the £4 million fee to bring him to Glasgow, as well as significant wages that have produced a return on the pitch.
This is the kind of poor business that Rangers need to move beyond, and it won’t be lost on some that Davies and Ridvan were signed in the same window, during Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s tenure.
We can today confirm Jose Cifuentes has joined Toronto FC on a season-long loan, with an option to buy.

Rangers transfer latest news also means Jose Cifuentes has moved to play for Toronto FC in MLS.
The Ecuador international is another who falls into the category of bad spending and wasted resources, with the 26-year-old failing to settle in Glasgow, in addition to a lacklustre return on the pitch.
He was signed by Michael Beale in the summer of 2023, but simply never lived up to the hype and expectation. ‘Cifu’ was known to dislike the cold, wet weather in Glasgow, so good luck ahead of winter in Toronto!
TFC has a purchase option on Jose Cifuentes when the loan expires at the end of the season, so with another year remaining on his Ibrox contract, the club will be hoping that this is a productive loan spell to expedite a permanent sale.
Last season, the former LAFC player spent time on loan at Cruzeiro in Brazil, followed by Aris in Greece, so it would be best for all if he could find some form and stability to kick on with his career.
Including the sale of Jefte, Rangers will have recouped around £8-9million for these exits, with some more expected to leave. Rabbi Matondo, Leon King, and Clinton Nsiala have been told they have no futures at the club, so it should be a busy final week of the transfer window for Russell Martin and Rangers.
The team is in dire need of quality through the spine, so expect interest in a centre-back, left-back, centre-midfielder and a striker in the coming days.
Rangers have been credited with interest in Villarreal’s Etta Eyong, with discussions ongoing over a potential deal for the Cameroonian frontman.
