Troy Parrott has become one of the most valuable players in the Dutch league after his market value increased by €6million.
The Ireland striker has seen his reputation and his value rocket since joining AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024.
Parrott, 23, has scored 19 goals in his last 20 games across club and country and became an Irish hero after sending his country to the World Cup qualifying play-offs.
His rising stock has also captured transfer interest from Leeds and Bundesliga side Stuttgart ahead of a potential January move.
While AZ Alkmaar have no plans to sell, they are set to make a healthy profit when Parrott eventually moves on.
According to TransferMarkt, Parrott’s value now stands at €22m.
That’s a €6m increase, which makes him the joint-sixth most valuable player in the Dutch top flight.
Parrott previously had 14 players who had a higher figure when his valuation topped €16m last month.
AZ Alkmaar paid Tottenham €8million in the summer of 2024, with the striker signing a five-year deal – and his value has rocketed since then.
He was valued at €9m in March, €14m in May and €16m by the beginning of October.
PSV Eindhoven duo Ismael Saibari and Joey Veerman are the league’s most valuable players at €32m and €27m respectively.
However, any club looking to sign Parrott in the January transfer window are likely to have to pay a much higher figure.
With his best years still ahead of him, a lengthy contract until 2029 and numerous clubs interested, AZ Alkmaar will be in a strong position when it comes to negotiations.
According to reports in Holland, a minimum bid of €31m could be the figure that entices the club to cash in on their key asset.
With the updated valuation, Parrott becomes the third most valuable player in the Republic of Ireland set-up.
Nathan Collins remains the most valuable at €35m, his club team-mate and former Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is valued at €20m.
Southampton’s Fizz Azaz has also seen his valuation increase from €16m to €18m.
Jake O’Brien, who put in a Man of the Match display for Everton on Tuesday, is also valued at €18m, but that figure is expected to rise once the Premier League valuations are updated.
Evan Ferguson’s valuation remains €25m, but it’s a considerable €40m decrease in comparison to 2023 when the striker was attracting the interest of Manchester United.
