Evan Ferguson will be available for selection on Thursday when Roma play Stuttgart in the Europa League.
Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini provided the update on the Irishman, following his recovery from a back injury.
The Giallorossi are currently in 10th place in the Europa League table, with their German opponents level on points but one place better off.
A win would push either side into the top eight and on track for automatic qualification for the Last 16 of Europe’s secondary club competition.
Gasperini update on Evan Ferguson
Gasperini said, “We’re doing well in the Europa League, but given Sunday’s results, we’ll be focusing more on the league.”
The veteran coach would not elaborate when asked about the future of Evan Ferguson, but there may have been a clue in what he said.
“He’s definitely a player who has recovered from his injury and will be available tomorrow.
“Right now, he’s a Roma player. Every opportunity is a good one for him. He’s been playing well lately, scoring important goals.”
That wasn’t exactly a missive to other interested clubs, indicating the possibility of something happening before the end of the month.

Striker situation at Roma
With Roma bringing in Donyell Malen and Robinho Vaz, speculation continues on where the County Meath native will spend the second half of the season.
The latest reports indicate Fulham are keen on Evan Ferguson, but any movement requires Roma to pull the plug on the loan agreement with Brighton.
It is an ongoing situation clouded by uncertainty and mixed signals.
Robinho Ze and Malen have arrived, but Artem Dovbyk is injured for the medium term.
Then, for every critique from Gasperini toward Ferguson, Roma sporting director Frederic Massara recently championed the 21-year-old striker:
“Evan Ferguson leaving? Ferguson has been showing off all his qualities lately.”
If he gets on the pitch against Stuttgart, Ferguson will be aiming to add to the two Europa League goals scored against Celtic earlier this season, to reinforce his ability among the Giallorossi’s attacking options.
His overall status in Rome beyond the end of the month remains uncertain.
