Brendan Rodgers was filleted after he left Celtic over being “self-serving”.
But now the Irishman has taken a swing at the club and their former boss Wilfried Nancy.
Rodgers resigned at Celtic and was slaughtered by shareholder Dermot Desmond over his departure.
The billionaire would eventually land on Nancy as his next full-time boss after a Martin O’Neill interim role.
But it didn’t work out for the Scottish Premiership giants as the Frenchman was bulleted 33 days later.
Nancy lost six of his eight matches in charge after making significant changes to the system.
Those tweaks came despite not having the players to make a 3-4-3 formation work properly.
And yet, the Hoops persisted until they fell to third in the division and the board had to act.
Rodgers, on the other hand, was keeping a close eye on the issues at his old club.
And when Rodgers took over at Al-Qadsiah in Saudi, he clearly did not want to make the same mistakes.
So when asked about his own preferred set-up and when he’d implement it in the SPL, Rodgers had an answer locked and loaded.
“I mostly in my career have set up my teams to play a really attacking 4-3-3,” Rodgers said.
“But of course, your tactics have to be based around the players that you have and currently this group of players are more suited to playing 3-5-2 because that’s the strength of the players that we have.

“The two strikers that play so well and you build the team around that.
“I think in my time here I will arrive in 4-3-3.
“But I don’t really want to force it onto the players when there’s a different system and structure.
“I always say it’s not so much about the system, it’s about the style.
“And the style for my teams whether they play 3-5-2, 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, that style is always offensive and aggressive and always with discipline.
“But currently this group of players are working in the system very, very well.”
Celtic fans took to social media to discuss their old gaffer’s words.
And they remain convinced the 52-year-old was taking a swipe at his old club.
Now, Nancy and Rodgers never crossed paths in Glasgow.
So taking a pop at the Frenchman who bossed Columbus Crew before Celts is a bold shout.
But it is more than likely that the former Liverpool and Swansea City boss was digging out the board.
It would not be the first time this season, either.
Celtic’s hierarchy are warring with the fans over transfer hang-ups.
The Celtic AGM was scrapped early despite no questions being asked or answered.
Rodgers himself had also accused the higher-ups of failing to plan and prepare properly.
