Shane Lowry Spotted At World Darts Championship
The World Darts Championship attracts fans from all over. Regular punters, celebrities, sports stars and everyone in between seems to enjoy the darting action over the festive period.
Several big names were spotted on Sunday evening, enjoying the action from three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen, former winner Luke Humphries and Gian van Veen.
Tottenham duo James Maddison and Brennan Johnson were spotted in the Ally Pally crown enjoying themself, as was Irish golf star Shane Lowry.
The 2019 Open Championship winner was spotted amongst the crowd enjoying the darting action alongside some of his friends.
Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton was also in attendance, with both enjoying the festive break from golf with some tungsten action on the Alexandra Palace stage instead.

Lowry confirmed his retirement plans recently whilst also expressing his desire to represent Europe at the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland too.
Given that Lowry is evidently a fan of the darts, the 38-year-old may well turn his attention to the oche once he has finished with being a world class professional golfer.
The Mullingar man remains one of the world’s best golfers and sank the vital putt at Bethpage Black in September to ensure Europe retained the Ryder Cup.
Ironically, it was then Hatton, who was also at the darts with Lowry, who sank the putt meaning Luke Donald’s side won the Ryder Cup outright and didn’t just retain it.

When Is Shane Lowry’s Next Tournament Back In Golf?
With Shane Lowry enjoying some downtime at the darts over the Christmas period, golf fans are curious as to when the major champion is expected to return to the fairways.
The Irishman has confirmed when his first appearance of the 2026 season will be. The Westmeath golfer is confirmed for the Dubai Desert Classic in mid-January, alongside several other big hitters from the world of golf.
The likes of Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and several other big names are all expected to tee it up at Emirates Golf Club in Dubai from January 22-25 as well.
Lowry didn’t win on the DP World Tour or PGA Tour last season, but has his sights firmly set on getting back in the winners’ circle in 2026.
A fan favourite returns.

After his exploits in New York at the Ryder Cup, it is evident that Lowry remains one of the world’s best players on the big stage.
Not only that, but Lowry has proved time after time that he has what it takes to win the biggest tournaments around the world. Just look at the way he won the 20219 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in testing conditions.
After he makes his first appearance of the new season in Dubai, 2026 is expected to be a packed schedule for Lowry on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
But first, the Mullingar man can continue to relax over the festive period and enjoy the darting action at the World Darts Championship between now and the New Year.
