Munster have named their side for Friday’s United Rugby Championship Round 11 clash against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun, making four changes from the team that beat the Dragons last weekend.
Diarmuid Barron will captain the side. It was announced on Thursday that Barron had signed a new contract with the province, keeping him in Munster colours until at least 2028. While the pack sees Josh Wycherley, Oli Jager and Evan O’Connell come into the starting XV.
A major talking point is the inclusion of 19-year-old Academy out-half Tom Wood on the bench, putting him in line for his senior debut.
The Garryowen FC product progressed through Ballina-Killaloe RFC and St Munchin’s College, and despite still being eligible for Ireland U19s, he already made three appearances for Ireland U20s during the Six Nations and has been selected again this season.
Wood is one of two Academy players named in the matchday squad, with Seán Edogbo retaining his place in the back row alongside Ruadhán Quinn and Brian Gleeson.

The backline features two positional changes, with Diarmuid Kilgallen starting on the wing while Shane Daly shifts to outside centre and Dan Kelly moves to inside centre. Mike Haley and Thaakir Abrahams remain in the back three, with Kelly and Daly forming the midfield partnership.
The half-back pairing of Ethan Coughlan and Tony Butler start together for the second consecutive game, after first linking up last week following JJ Hanrahan’s late withdrawal.
In the pack, Wycherley, Barron and Jager make up the front row, with O’Connell joining Fineen Wycherley in the second row. The back row remains unchanged, with Edogbo, Quinn and Gleeson continuing together.
The bench includes Lee Barron, Mark Donnelly and John Ryan as front-row cover, while Gavin Coombes and Jack O’Donoghue provide additional forward depth.
Donnelly could make his first Munster appearance since November after a short-term loan spell at Ealing Trailfinders. Backline replacements are Paddy Patterson, Tom Wood and Seán O’Brien.
Clayton McMillan’s men will be hoping to build on last week’s win as they travel to Scotstoun to face a Glasgow side eager to climb the URC table.
