Four of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are interested in signing Brentford defender and Ireland captain Nathan Collins this summer.
That’s according to TBR Football, who exclusively revealed Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for Collins’ signature alongside Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Tottenham recently announced the appointment of Thomas Frank as manager, the man who brought Collins to Brentford in 2023 and developed him into one of the country’s most promising defenders.
With the expectation Cristian Romero is to depart north London, Spurs will be looking for reinforcements at centre-back and Collins, 24, looks an intriguing successor.
The Bees paid £22 million to sign the Irishman from Wolves two years ago and it’s likely they’ll be after at least double that figure to part ways with him.
The best betting sites in Ireland are forecasting a steep drop in form for Brentford next season, currently holding the fifth-shortest odds for relegation at 9/2 following Frank’s exit.

Collins played every single minute of Premier League football in 2024-25, the only outfield player to do so with 3,420 under his belt after 38 games.
He also led the English top-flight in blocks among centre-backs (57), finished second to Nottingham Forest’s Murillo for most clearances (242) and tied Virgil van Dijk in second for most aerial duels won (119).
Collins is one of eight players born in 2001 or later to reach a century of Premier League appearances and the Leixlip-born star already boasts a wealth of experience at such a young age.
When asked about Frank’s departure from Brentford, Collins said: “I’m going to miss him, he’s had a really good spell at Brentford. He’s done unbelievable things, and he deserves everything he gets.”
If a move to Spurs doesn’t pan out, the Irish connection at Brentford could only grow stronger going forward as former Ireland player and assistant coach Keith Andrews is the heavy favourite to take the manager’s job.
Additionally, Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher recently completed an £18 million move to Brentford from league champions Liverpool.
