Strasbourg look set to complete a permanent deal for Andrew Omobamidele.
The Republic of Ireland international spent the second half of the season on loan with the Ligue 1 side from Nottingham Forest.
As part of the deal, Strasbourg are able to make the move permanent for €8million.
Omobamidele featured 10 times in the league under manager Liam Rosenior, although he missed five games with an Achilles injury.
Rosenior helped guide Strasbourg to seventh in the league, which was enough to secure a spot in the Europa Conference League play-offs.
Therefore, he wants to build a squad capable of the hectic fixture schedule, writes The Sun.
Omobamidele joined Nottingham Forest from Norwich in September 2023 but struggled to cement his place in the first-team.
He was restricted to 11 league appearances in his debut top-flight campaign but failed to feature at all during the first half of last season.
A lack of regular football has had an impact on Omobamidele’s involvement with the Republic of Ireland.
He has only featured once since Heimir Hallgrimsson’s appointment, which came in his second game in charge against Greece.
Omobamidele missed the double-header of wins over Bulgaria in March but was recalled for the recent international friendlies against Senegal and Luxembourg. Although he was an unused substitute in both games.
Reports in the Pink Un claim midfielder Andrew Moran is being fancied by Norwich.
The Brighton man spent the season on-loan with Stoke City last season. He featured regularly for the most part but fell out of favour towards the end of the campaign.
According to the report, Moran is highly regarded by the coaching staff at Norwich and will look to utilise their strong relationship with Brighton if they want to pursue a deal.
The Canaries recently appointed manager Liam Manning, and a midfielder remains a key area to strengthen.
Jacob Sorenson and Marcelino Nunez are likely to depart, which will leave them short in the middle of the park.
Mainz winger Paul Nebel could be playing for Ireland if the FAI get their way.
Nebel confirmed they have been in touch to determine whether he would consider switching his allegiance after impressing in the Bundesliga.
The 22-year-old scored ten goals and added a further six assists last season to further enhance his reputation among Irish chiefs.
Nebel, who was born in Germany, qualifies to play for Ireland through his maternal grandmother.
He has played for Germany throughout their youth levels, but has plenty of competition to secure a spot in the senior set-up.
