Gavin Bazunu has suffered more bad luck after he was ruled out for six weeks of the season.
The goalkeeper had made a loan switch from Southampton to Stoke City in a bid to earn playing time.
Potters sporting director Jonathan Walters explained why they signed Bazunu and there was excitement from both parties about the deal.
But, unfortunately for the stopper, it didn’t take long for things to go wrong at his new club.
Stoke have been running thin this term so far in terms of injuries to their squad.
And now Bazunu, 23, has been added to the growing list of crocked stars.

Manager Mark Robins broke the news to gutted Stoke fans and admitted things look bleak for his side.
“The players are giving everything they can, they are running on fumes,” he said.
“Whatever can go wrong is going wrong.
“We’ve got to keep giving everything until we can get some bodies back.
“I cannot believe how people are going down with the injuries they are. It is biting us on the backside.
“Gavin Bazunu will be out for six weeks or so. We are paper thin.”

Bazunu moved to the bet365 Stadium hoping to play more minutes on the pitch than at St Mary’s.
The Irishman had began the campaign as Saints’ No.1 pick before some poor performances.
Those outings cost him his status as the top goalie at the club and when Daniel Peretz joined on loan from Bayern Munich, the picture for Bazunu became even clearer.
Since making his loan switch he has only played once before injury.
But that game came with a much needed clean sheet for the player and a point at home to QPR.
Bazunu also has Republic of Ireland hopes for the future and, indeed, the near future.

The Irish take on Czechia in their World Cup playoff semi-final in March which will be cutting his return fine.
The player is currently Ireland’s No.2 behind Brentford man of the moment Caoimhín Kelleher.
And yet, manager Heimir Hallgrimsson will be desperate to have Bazunu available.
The boss needs all the experience he can get for such a big game in Prague.
And the injured Stoke man already has 22 caps to his name.
Kelleher has been standout for the Bees in the Premier League so far this term under countryman Keith Andrews.
But with games coming thick and fast there are no guarantees over full fitness for the 27-year-old.
That’s another reason Hallgrimsson will want Bazunu available to provide the best cover.
