Many have speculated in recent weeks as to whether Cristiano Ronaldo is past his best. Despite scoring five goals in one game, the Portuguese superstar has suffered a very unusual baron spell.

However, tonight the Ballon d’Or holder has once again silenced his critics as he has just put Real Madrid 1-0 up with a fine finish.

After a breakaway move, the former Manchester United winger found himself one on one with the goalkeeper and he did not hesitate before smashing the ball into the back of the net.
