This evening, news broke that Real Madrid’s highly anticipated signing of Manchester United keeper David De Gea had quite farcically fallen through.
According to reports, the deal collapsed due to Manchester United officials not sending the appropriate documentation to Madrid before the Spanish window closed (23:00 UK time).
Many believe this is another example of consistent negligence from those in charge at Old Trafford, however others believe that Ed Woodward knew exactly what he was doing with the paper work and that he was simply trolling his Bernabeu counterparts.
It sounds rather unlikely to us here at Pundit HQ, but whatever you believe, the internet has done what it does best and turned this mess up into comedy gold.

If Real Madrid miss out on De Gea, will Benitez’s anti-United speech this time be “I want to talk about FAX” ?
