Dana White Shuts Down Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal UFC White House Rumours

UFC President Dana White has shut down any rumours of a Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal UFC White House main event.

The UFC kingpin insists McGregor will not fight former BMF Title holder Masvidal on June 14 at the White House.

Dana White Shuts Down Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal Rumours

Former BMF Title holder Jorge Masvidal has teased a fight with Conor McGregor for UFC White House, insisting that negotiations are underway between him and the UFC over a potential clash with the Irishman.

UFC White House is set to go down on the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday, June 14, with US President Donald Trump at cageside for what promises to be a ground-breaking sporting event and incredible night of MMA action in Washington DC.

No fights have been officially signed for UFC White House, but there have been several rumours of potential clashes. Almost every fight involves McGregor, who ramped up training graft amid rumours of a return to the octagon for the first time in almost five years.

McGregor was last seen at UFC 264 back in July 2021, losing his trilogy bout with fierce rival Dustin Poirier after breaking his leg and being stopped in the process.

Now, the Irishman looks set to return to the octagon once and for all, and looks locked in for a main event slot at UFC White House this summer.

It looked like he would be fighting Michael Chandler if the rumours were to be believed, but UFC President Dana White shut down any talk of that fight.

Since then, rumours have circulated that it would be Masvidal who would be making a return to the cage for the first time in over three years to face ‘Notorious’ at UFC White House.

Masvidal has vowed to ‘beat the f***ing dog s***’ out of McGregor, but mightn’t get the opportunity after White has once again poured cold water on any talk of McGregor vs Masvidal happening.

The UFC President insists that McGregor vs Masvidal will most definitely not happen, labelling the fight as ‘goofy s***’.

Who Will Conor McGregor Fight At UFC White House?

With both Michael Chandler and Jorge Masvidal now seemingly ruled out of fighting Conor McGregor at UFC White House, fans are wondering who will be standing opposite the Irishman come June 14 on the South Lawn.

There are several other options for McGregor’s UFC White House opponent, if indeed the former two-weight simultaneous UFC champion does indeed return to action and enter the UFC cage for the first time in almost five years.

A potential trilogy with Nate Diaz is always thrown about as a possible match-up for McGregor, who insists he has unfinished business with his former foe. The fight makes sense too given the scores are currently 1-1.

Another option for McGregor’s White House opponent is a fourth fight with Dustin Poirier. ‘The Diamond’ may have retired last year after losing to Max Holloway for the BMF Title, but would most definitely return to action if there was a possible fourth fight with his fierce rival McGregor on the cards.

Another option for McGregor could be a clash with Justin Gaethje. Ali Abdelazizi proposed McGregor vs Gaethje for UFC White House, perhaps even for the UFC Lightweight Title.

If Gaethje comes through unscathed against Paddy Pimblett in their UFC 324 main event on January 24, then that fight is a genuine possibility.

Although fans are no closer to knowing who McGregor will fight at the White House, the Irishman certainly has an abundance of options.
