Caoimhin Agyarko Reveals He Accepted An All-Irish Fight With Callum Walsh Last Year

Caoimhin Agyarko has revealed he accepted an all-Irish super-fight with Callum Walsh last year.

‘Black Thunder’ accepted a fight with ‘King’ in 2025, but the bout never happened due to Team Walsh having other plans.

Undefeated Irish super-welterweight prospect Caoimhin Agyarko has revealed that he previously accepted a fight with Callum Walsh in 2025.

The 18-0 fighter is currently preparing for the hardest fight of his career against Brandon Adams on April 18, in what is a final eliminator to determine the mandatory challenger to Josh Kelly’s IBF World Super-Welterweight Title.

‘Black Thunder’ enjoyed a successful year in 2025, defeating Harley Collison, Ryan Kelly and Ishmael Davis in what was arguably the best year of his professional career.

The Belfast man has also revealed that he even accepted a fight with fellow Irish 154-pound fighter Walsh. Agyarko revealed this breaking news on his Instagram story on Wednesday while doing a Q&A with some fans.

When asked about the possibility of a fight between him and fellow Irishman Walsh, Agyarko said:

“Good fighter Callum is. I accepted a fight against him last year but he and his team had other plans.

“I’ve heard he’s moved up in weight so wish him all the best, maybe we can get it on down the line.”

Although Agyarko vs Walsh didn’t quite come to fruition, there is still a high chance the pair do battle in the ring in the not too distant future. Perhaps even with a world title or two on the line, if both men can become world champion in their own right before unifying.

Caoimhin Agyarko and Callum Walsh Remain On Collision Course

Although Callum Walsh has reportedly moved up to middleweight where he will campaign for the foreseeable future, there is still a possibility that a fight between him and fellow Irishman Caoimhin Agyarko materialises.

Both fighters are currently undefeated and are on their own paths towards world honours, but an all-Irish super-fight between the pair is something that will forever be mentioned until they meet in the ring once and for all.

Agyarko labelled Conor Benn embarrassing after getting in the ring with Shakur Stevenson after his last fight, and may well have one eye on big fights with some of the UK’s biggest names, including Benn.

However, an all-Irish fight with Walsh remains one that could trump any world title fight or major fight with a big name. Bragging rights between two Irish lads of similar weights far outweighs any other fight.

With that in mind, Agyarko vs Walsh will forever be mentioned until the pair fight. Their names will continue to be mentioned with one another going forward, even if there is a difference in their weight class.

With Walsh now campaigning up at middleweight and Agyarko sticking at 154-pounds for the foreseeable future, it might be another couple of years yet until the pair face off once and for all.

Agyarko is on his own journey now to the IBF world championship at light-middleweight, with Walsh also closing in on his maiden world title shot with the WBC. A unification in the future in a stadium in Ireland would be magical.

In the meantime, both Agyarko and Walsh must keep winning and keep climbing the rankings before a potential all-Irish super-fight in the future.
