Bohemians have made a crucial signing with a raid on Serie A, securing Torino’s Senan Mullen on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old returns home to Ireland to gain essential first-team exposure and experience, having yet to make his debut for Il Toro.
To date, Senan Mullen has played for the Turin club’s Under-19 side, but he joined the first team squad last summer before being sent to Mantova.
Mullen has been involved with the vast majority of the Serie B strugglers’ games this season, but he has been restricted to just one start and one substitute appearance.

Now, the Republic of Ireland has a springboard opportunity in the League of Ireland Premier Division, and he intends to make an impression.
“I’m delighted to be here and this is a great opportunity for me to prove myself at senior level, Mullen told Bohs official website.
“I spoke to Rennie (Alan Reynolds, manager) and Stephen O’Donnell, and I liked everything that they had to say about the club, the project for this year, the group that is already here and how they see me fitting into it.
The familiarity of the switch to Dublin is a mutual benefit, as O’Donnell gave the player his debut at Dundalk as a 16-year-old.
They both knew each other.
“It was all really positive. I really enjoyed working with Stevie at Dundalk. This is a great league to play in, there are a lot of eyes on it and I just want to get in now and show people what I can do.
“I could have gone on loan to another club in Europe but with the league here only starting now, the chance to have a full season at a club like Bohs really appealed to me, particularly with the club in Europe this season, added Senan Mullen.

Mullen is ‘hungry to play’ for Bohs
The County Cavan native moved to Torino in February 2024, and he has voiced his intention to show that he has developed in Italian football.
Bohemians manager Alan Reynolds stated he was pleased to land the ‘hungry’ player and his staff believe he will make an impression.
“Senan is a big strong centre-back and someone we have been keeping an eye on for a long time,” said the Bohs boss.
“He was obviously with Dundalk before he went to Italy when Stevie was there and he is rated extremely highly. He is a really exciting young talent who we have with us now for the season, so we really believe he will be a great addition to the group we have.
Reynolds added, “He is an imposing defender, he’s good on the ball and he’s quick. He’s coming back to Ireland for the year and really hungry to play and do well.”
Senan Mullen is Bohemians’ eighth signing of the close season, following the acquisitions of Patrick Hickey (Galway United), Sam Todd (Derry City), Hugh Martin (UCD), Harry Vaughan (Hull City, loan), Ryan Burke (Waterford), Paul Walters (FC Cincinnati, loan), and the most recent capture, Sadou Diallo (Derry City).
