Emma Raducanu stalker blocked after attempting to buy tickets for Wimbledon

The man who was given a restraining order against Emma Raducanu has attempted to buy tickets for Wimbledon.

It’s understood that his name was flagged by the security system when he attempted to purchase tickets through the public ballot.

The 22-year-old was left in tears in February when a man, who has not been named, became “fixated” during a tournament in Dubai.

A day before her defeat against Karolina Muchova, the man had approached her at a coffee shop near her hotel. He handed Raducanu a letter and asked for a photo.

He became familiar because he was spotted in the audience at previous tournaments.

When Raducanu became aware of his attendance in Dubai during her match, she revealed how she was left in tears and had to hide behind the umpire’s chair.

A terrifying ordeal for Emma Raducanu ahead of Wimbledon

She told reporters after the match: “I saw him in the first game of the match and I was like: ‘I don’t know how I’m going to finish.’

“I literally couldn’t see the ball through tears. I could barely breathe. I was like: ‘I need to just take a breather.’ I’m always with someone and always being watched.”

Raducanu had alerted the security team, who arrested the man and gave him a restraining order. His name was then passed on to the tennis authorities.

“I’m obviously wary when I go out,” she said after her Dubai experience.

“I try not to be careless about it because you only realise how much of a problem it is when you’re in that situation and I don’t necessarily want to be in that situation again.”

In 2022, another man was given a five-year restraining order against Raducanu after walking 23 miles to her home.

Raducanu, who is ranked 36th in the world, is 40/1 to triumph at Wimbledon with Irish betting sites.

Emma Raducanu to partner with Carlos Alcaraz

Raducanu will team up with French Open winner Carlos Alcaraz in the mixed doubles at the US Open.

The new-look tournament, which is played over two days and has a cool €860,000 prize pot for the winner, will start on August 19.

The event will be held a week before the main singles events in a bid to attract more high-profile names.

Alcaraz joked: “She’s going be the boss.

“I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me. I made that special request [but] she took a while. But obviously she had to ask, and she had to think a little bit. But it wasn’t a minute, so…

“I know Emma since a really long time ago, so we know each other. I have really good relationship with her.

“So it’s just going be interesting. We are going to enjoy it, for sure. We will try to win. But obviously it’s going to be really, really fun.”

Elsewhere, Jack Draper will play with China’s Qinwen Zheng while Jannik Sinner teams up with America’s Emma Navarro.
