Watch All The Tries From Scotland’s 48-7 Hammering of Italy

Scotland scored six tries as they dispatched Italy 48-7.

Scotland will begin their World Cup campaign in fine form after hammering Italy 48-7 yesterday. The Scots played some lovely rugby in Edinburgh, with Finn Russell particularly exciting.

The outhalf set up Sean Lamont’s first try of the game, following a perfectly flighted cross field kick. However it was upfront where Scotland impressed most.

The Scottish pack dominated their opponents, using the maul to great effect. Indeed such was the performance of their scrum that Alasdair Dickinson received the man of the match award, after completely outplaying Martin Castrogiovanni.

The Italians were never really in the game, and did not help themselves by offering Scotland two intercept tries. Their discipline also let them down, suffering two sin binnings. The second of which came as a result of Michele Rizzo’s vicious stamp on Gordon Reid.
