Video: McIlroy’s Masters Push Reminds Us Of The Greatest Golfing Ad Of All Time

As the US Masters moves into the weekend, this year’s competition looks set to be one of the greats.

As the winds picked up on Friday afternoon, even a serial past champion couldn’t complete a competent round as Phil Mickelson’s challenge was sunk upon finding the water on the 15th. In missing the cut he joins many others widely tipped to perform strongly such as Rickie Fowler and Adam Scott.

Two men who have not disappointed, however, are defending champion Jordan Spieth and our very own Rory McIlroy, and the prospect of them going toe-to-toe over the weekend is compelling to say the least.

In fact, it got us thinking back to what was surely one of the greatest ads golf has ever seen. Should McIlroy win the green jacket this weekend it would see him join Tiger Woods and four others as the only players to have completed a career slam.

Such an achievement would be a lifetime in the making as the video below beautifully captures.
