Reports suggest Turkish Champions Besiktas are willing to sign Premier League duo, Mario Balotelli and Aleks Kolarov, with both surplus to requirements at their respective clubs.
Turkish newspaper Milliyet has claimed national champions Besiktas are after Aleks Kolarov to boost their squad as they head into the Champions League next season.
The Serbia international left back had a poor season for Man City and was left to play second fiddle to former Gunner Gael Clichy.
New Man City boss Guardiola likes his full-backs to play high up the pitch, supplementing attacks – and there’s a belief that he will sign younger options before the season gets under way who are more adapt to his playing style.
Guardiola’s has a proven track record in developing youngsters and with his Kolarov’s playing time sure to be limited at the Etihad this season, the left back will be tempted to depart though his £90,000 a week wages may prove to be a stumbling block.
Meanwhile the Liverpool Echo report that Besiktas will sign Mario Balotelli, with the player surplus to requirements at Liverpool.
Balotelli joined Liverpool for a fee of £16 million, to replace the outbound Luis Suárez back in 2014, and having only managed to score 4 goals in 28 matches including just 1 in the Premier League, he struggled to hold down a place and was widely criticised for his lack of application.
Having been omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia, the Italian was forced to leave on loan last season to Serie A side AC Milan. Balotelli scored only three goals in 23 games in his second stint with Milan and it was no surprise when the Rossoneri decided not to make the move permanent.
Balotelli is ill-suited to the Jürgen Klopp’s brand of high intensity football and Klopp is keen to offload the misfiring striker, with Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola, confirming Besiktas are the Italian’s next destination.
Raiola told Turkish media outletSpox.com.tr:
“I offered Mario to Besiktas and I’m waiting for their answer, but I’m quite sure the transfer will happen as the president already assured me in the past that he would do everything he can to sign him.”
Both Balotelli and Kolarov are sure to be brilliant additions for the Turkish Champions.
