Sami Khedira, the Real Madrid and Germany midfielder could be on his way to Arsenal if the rumours of a £23 million bid are to come true according to The Mirror.
Khedira struggled with injury for Real Madrid last season, only scoring one goal, making his move away from the Bernabéu all the more plausible. He could be a welcome addition to Arsenal’s midfield and gives Arsene Wenger an added option to an already talented array of midfield players.
Although Khedira is a very talented midfield player in his own right, one would question the move for him on a personal level as he could find it difficult to nail down a regular place in Arsenal’s midfield ahead of the likes of Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil.
Despite this, being only 27, Wenger may see Khedira as a player for the future. It could also give him a player that will no doubt contribute to the brilliant possession football for which Arsenal are renowned.
Last season we saw the signing of Ozil and he gave Arsenal an advantage over the majority of Premier league midfields but it was Aaron Ramsey that was the stand out player for the North-Londoners. He enjoyed a fantastic start until his injury hampered Arsenal’s season.
Many fans believe it is a world class striker that Wenger needs to spend his money on in this transfer window however and there is no doubt they will look to strengthen this area..
Defensively Arsenal are pretty sound and as mentioned they have a very talented midfield. If Wenger can sign a striker that’s capable of getting over 20 goals a season or more then a real challenge for the title may be on the cards.
Leave Ramsey, Ozil and the rest to it and find a striker Arsene, maybe then the fans will be able to look forward to a push for the title.
