Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has been blasted in a local newspaper regarding his performances in the NBA Playoffs, despite leading the team in points scored.

The Oklahoman newspaper referred to Durant as ‘Mr Unreliable’ after the Thunder fell behind 3-2 in the series against the Memphis Grizzlies. Durant responded to the unwarranted media scrutiny in the best way possible, posting 36 points and 10 rebounds in a 20-point win over the Grizzlies in Game 6.
The fact that the newspaper decided to run the headline is quite outrageous considering Durant is having a career season, leading the NBA in points and field-goal efficiency. Durant’s form has continued into the post-season, where he is ranked third in points scored averaging 29.3 per game and first in minutes played with 47 per game. Durant is the current bookmaker’s favourite to be crowned this year’s MVP and his teammates have jumped to his defence. Russell Westbrook had this to say on the matter:
Westbrook on the headline: “That’s BS in my eyes.”

The Oklahoma City Thunder are currently tied 3-3 with the Memphis Grizzlies and host Memphis on Saturday in what should be an explosive affair. It will be interesting to see what type of Kevin Durant turns up, The Slim Reaper or Mr Unreliable?
