Massive Irish rugby news is emerging this morning, as Munster have hijacked Robbie Henshaw’s move to Leinster. The Connacht and Ireland centre was due to move east next season, but we can confirm this morning that the southern province are now set to announce the signature of the highly rated 22 year-old.
This comes as a major blow to the Dublin 4 side, who are now left with a hole in the midfield as Ben Te’o is departing for Worcester Warriors.
Leo Cullen is said to be dismayed by the news, and this adds further tensions between the two provinces ahead of tomorrow’s crucial league tie at the Aviva Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to Pundit Arena, Henshaw revealed his relief that he saw sense at the crucial moment.
“To see how soft Leinster are in the flesh, during their defeat at the Sportsgrounds last week got me thinking.
“The lack of pride shown in Leinster’s tame loss was downright embarrassing.
“Then Anthony Foley gave me a call, and asked me if I really wanted to join that bunch of ‘Lady-Boys’. He said to forget about the contract, come to Munster, let’s make this happen.”
“Do I really want to spend my career getting manicures, and knocking back pints of Vitamin H with the goys in Kiely’s?
“It was an easy decision in the end.”
