Liverpool FC News : Luis Suarez declares himself fit to face England

Liverpool fans will be happy to hear that Luis Suarez has returned to fitness. He has declared himself “100 per cent” fit to play in Uruguay’s must win clash following an opening day defeat to Costa Rica.

Speaking to ovaciondigital.com, Suarez spoke about his fitness and his inside knowledge of the England camp. The Liverpool striker will have played against the whole England side at some stage of his stint in the Premier League. He described England as a team with “defensive deficiencies”, and Uruguay fans will be hoping that Suarez’s insight will prove beneficial as they attempt to qualify for the knock-out stages of the World Cup.

Closer to home, Liverpool fans will be both relieved and cautious about Suarez playing again so soon after knee surgery. His participation on the footballs biggest stage was thrown into massive doubt when he underwent knee surgery soon after the conclusion of the Premier League season. While Liverpool fans will be happy to see him back playing, there will no doubt be a slight fear that Suarez may do more damage to what must be vulnerable injury.

Suarez came across as being adamant that he was going to play in this summer’s World Cup. “At no moment did I think I would lose the chance of playing in the World Cup. I’ve never thought that during my recovery.” While he failed to feature in Uruguay’s shock defeat to Costa Rica, he is determined to be the difference when he faces England, the country where he currently plies his trade.

Some Liverpool fans will be hoping that he does not harm England’s chances of progressing. Uruguay fans will be hoping for Suarez to lead their line and show of the electric form that saw him the highest scorer in the Premier League last season. No doubt, the most honest Liverpool fans are just hoping that there is no recurrence of his knee injury.

Nonetheless it will be great to see one of the world’s finest players getting his chance to prove his worth at footballs biggest tournament.
