German bookmaker Bwin have slashed the odds of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal from 12/1 to 4/1 after a large number of bets, as seen in Express.
Aubameyang’s move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City looked set in stone after reports suggested that the Gabon international was close to joining the Citizens earlier this month.
However, after Jamie Vardy signed a new four-year deal with Leicester and hence snubbed Arsenal, the reports linking the Gooners with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s influential striker have increased beyond measure.
Glenn Woodage, bookmaker at Bwin, has been speaking to the media about the rapid change in events.
“With Vardy turning his nose up at Arsenal to remain at Leicester City, the pressure’s on Wenger to deliver his first world class striker since Robin van Persie.
“Aubameyang’s move to City is stalling and Arsenal are good value to swoop in and snatch him from beneath Guardiola’s nose and the odds agree.”
Man City are reported to require £65m for ‘Auba’ who scored 36 goals for Dortmund last season, but will now clearly face stiff competition from Arsenal.
This summer just got interesting..
