Dana White has confirmed he is in talks with boxing supremo Floyd Mayweather about a move to MMA and the UFC and despite there being no deal in place, it didn’t stop a veritable GOAT of MMA to call out the boxing legend.
The possibility of Mayweather making the switch to MMA first surfaced when he entered into the media circus that was his clash with boxing debutant Conor McGregor earlier this year.
With the UFC lightweight champion switching codes to meet the retired boxer, it was inevitable that a reciprocal move by Mayweather would be suggested.
With boxing purists none too please with McGregor jumping into the ring, a similar sentiment in relation to Mayweather was harboured by MMA fans. There was just no way he would survive inside the cage, right?
Now, however, one UFC star has decided to get the jump on his peers and has called out the boxer following the news that UFC president White is in talks with the 40-year-old.
It almost seems fitting that the man installing himself at the head of the queue for Mayweather is none other than MMA G.O.A.T Demetrious Johnson.

The UFC flyweight champion has proven himself to be all but unbeatable over the last five years and has offered to bulk up in order to, as he puts it to Mayweather, ‘welcome you proper’.
As of now, there is no confirmation that the greatest boxer of his generation will take on the challenges of MMA or if he will ever step into the octagon.
That being said, a match-up with Johnson would certainly be an enthralling encounter, at least until the UFC star decided to submit his opponent.
