Over the last few months, Russell Westbrook has been scorching opponents at a degree never seen before from the OKC guard.
Despite injuries to OKC’s other stars, Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka, Westbrook took the Thunder on his back and almost single-handedly carried them to the playoffs, missing out by one loss to the Pelicans.
Despite missing over a month of the season with a broken hand, and also having surgery to fix a broken face (literally), Russ-West came back stronger than ever and is a genuine candidate for MVP.
The former UCLA star averaged 28.1 points, 8.6 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals over the course of a tremendous individual season. He also posted eleven triple-doubles, although the NBA retracted one. Boo!
