Lewis Responds To Bristow Taunts & Premier League Darts Preview

The final round of League fixtures takes place amid even more controversy as we preview week 15 of the Premier League Darts.

Prior to last week’s matches, five time World Champion Eric Bristow gave his take on how the night would go.

He certainly made the Crafty Cockney eat his words with a great win on the night over League leader Michael van Gerwen.

The top four have been decided: Michael van Gerwen, Dave Chisnall, Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barneveld. The order has yet to be determined, and that will dictate who faces who in next week’s final fixtures. With his loss last week to Gary Anderson, Phil Taylor will miss out on the play-offs for the first time since the Premier League Darts began.

Week 15 Fixtures – Thursday 14th May 2015:

Michael van Gerwen v Dave Chisnall

Chisnall won his last game 7-1 against Stephen Bunting, and would finish top of the League if he beats MVG. Van Gerwen has lost three of his last five games, and we feel that he’s too good to make it four in six – MVG to bounce back and finish top, having done so for so long.

Prediction: Michael van Gerwen @ 4/7

Adrian Lewis v Gary Anderson

Lewis had a great win against the World number one last week and has only lost one of his last six Premier League Darts matches. With a win here, Anderson would finish third. This would likely give him a slightly easier semi final draw against Dave Chisnall (seeing as how first will play fourth and second will play third next week).

The motivation’s definitely there for the World Champion, but Lewis, despite already being relegated, now has the fire that he has been lacking thus far in 2015.

Prediction: Adrian Lewis @ 13/8

Raymond van Barneveld v Stephen Bunting

Unbeaten in his last six games (and winning five of them), the form guide is firmly in Barney’s favour. He defeated Bunting in the return game back in February. The Bullet did manage to beat Gary Anderson 7-1 a few weeks ago, and is more than capable of getting something from his Premier League Darts swansong.

Prediction: Draw @ 17/5

Phil Taylor v James Wade

Wade hasn’t won in six matches, but did give a very good account of himself in drawing against Barneveld last week. Taylor is in woeful form (despite not playing too badly), and some are now questioning whether it’s the end for him for what feels like the fiftieth time. We’re backing the best ever to go out with a bang and silence the critics.

Prediction: Phil Taylor @ 8/11
