Barney and Anderson Row and Premier League Darts Preview

Gary Anderson and Raymond van Barneveld have more pressing matters ahead of their row last week, as we preview week 14 of the Premier League Darts.

At least last weeks incident between Barney and Anderson gave some the opportunity to make ‘undercard to Mayweather v Pacquiao’ jokes at the duo’s expense.

Both men are being chased by former World Champions Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis for the last two play-off spots in what’s sure to be a highly competitive week in Newcastle.

Week 14 fixtures – Thursday 7th May 2015

Dave Chisnall v Stephen Bunting
Chisnall could finish second overall with a win here, while a gallant Bunting has missed out on a play-off place. Dave is coming in off a win after two straight defeats.
Bunting has shown signs of life recently by going undefeated in his last three games, so we’ll back the Bullet to just about nick it.
Prediction: Bunting @ 2.8
___
Adrian Lewis v Michael van Gerwen

MVG is on top form, winning Tour events and topping the Premier League Darts in the process. Lewis, who is two points off the top four, will be going for broke as he has the joint worst leg difference in the league.

The form guide suggests that van Gerwen will prevail, but the importance of the match may well bring out the best in Jackpot.

Prediction: Draw @ 5

___

James Wade v Raymond van Barneveld

James was officially relegated last week, and faces an inform Barney who has won his last four matches. The Dutchman can’t afford to rest on his laurels though, with Lewis and Taylor ready to pounce on his much coveted fourth place berth.

Five weeks for Wade without a win suggests that he’ll exit the 2015 League with a whimper, rather than a bang.

Prediction: Barneveld @ 2.2

___

Phil Taylor v Gary Anderson

Anderson has won just one of his last five Premier League Darts matches and is still not guaranteed to be in the play-offs if he loses his last two games. He will also be very much fired up after his confrontation with Barney.

Taylor, six times Champion and the only player to appear in every Premier League Darts competition, is in real danger of missing out on the final night. There’s a distinct possibility that they may cancel each other out, even though Taylor hasn’t won in five League games.

Prediction: Draw @ 4.4
