With less than four weeks to go until the Masters begins, we turn our attention to the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill and attempt to pick a winner.
Due to it’s opportune scheduling right in the thick of the Masters build-up, along with the influence of “The King” himself, the Arnold Palmer Invitational plays host this week to the world’s top five players, with no less than seven majors between them.
Matt Every (who’s available at time of writing at 175/1 with bet365), defends what was his first ever PGA Tour win on the par 72 Bay Hill course measuring 7,381 yards.
Along with the above, players on the periphery of the top five such as Keegan Bradley and Rickie Fowler also contend.
Tiger Woods has won the event a staggering eight times but is absent this week due to injury.
Kevin Na: Backing Na can be a crapshoot at the best of times. But with two top fours in his last four Invitationals and two top tens in the last two weeks, Na is worth a punt bearing in mind his streaky nature. (45/1 SkyBet)
Paul Casey: Again, not a massive price, but Casey is in great form finishing top three in both The Honda Classic and the Northern Trust Open recently. (50/1 BetVictor)
Bernd Wiesberger (100/1 Skybet)
Russell Knox (80/1 Betfair)
No form at this event to speak of for either player but that didn’t stop Every or indeed Knox’s compatriot Martin Laird from winning it previously. Both are impressive, particularly Wiesberger, who was in great form throughout January and February.
First Round Leader
Paul Casey: Worth having another look at Paul here as he has had a first round lead and an FR top five in four events at Bay Hill.
