Video: Young Out-Half Antoine Dupont Destroys Oyonnax in Top 14

France’s out-half selection for this World Cup has been steeped in controversy, following coach Phillipe Saint-André’s falling out with Francois Trinh-Duc and selection of Frederic Michalak. However, things may be more straight-forward for Japan 2019, if this performance by 18 year-old Antoine Dupont is anything to go by.

The Castres out-half put in an amazing display for the Top 14 outfit in their 35-26 win over Oyonnax.

For a player who is just 18 years old, it was an immense showing, scoring a try and causing havoc for the Oyonnax defence time and time again, as seen in this highlight reel.

Dupont has been with Castres since 2014, and has been capped three times for the French u20 side, managed by former France great, Fabien Pelous. The teenager can play at both scum-half and out-half. If he keeps producing performances like this one, it will not be long before he catches the attention of Guy Novés, who takes over as coach of the national team after the World Cup.
