Will Greenwood: England Need ‘Different Styles Of Leaders’ Vs France

Former England and Lions centre Will Greenwood says that England will need “different styles of leaders” when they take on France in a must-win clash in Paris on Saturday.

2003 World Cup winner Greenwood, speaking on Sky Sports’ The Offload’ programme, highlighted the different styles of leadership which will be so key on Saturday.

“You need those who get up in front and who are great orators and you just follow them.

“And then there are those who just stick on the tackle suit and say ‘we get better this week.”

And the three-time Lions tourist feels that whilst not perfect, Eddie Jones’ men have a good blend of these two styles of leadership,

“And they’ve got a good blend there. They’re not perfect, I’m not trying to stand here and say they are perfect. They got beat and they deserved to get beat”.

Greenwood believes the Red Rose will have learnt from their surprise defeat at Murrayfield- only their second in 26 games under Eddie Jones.

Victory will keep England’s faint hopes of a third successive Six Nations title alive but defeat at the Stade de France and an Ireland win against Scotland in Dublin, will see their title hopes disappear.
