Watch: The Vicious Stamp That Has Seen Josaia Raisuqe Handed A Ten Week Ban

Oh dear, oh dear. That is horrible. That is horrible!“…”Yep he’s gone. He’s got to go. He’s got to go.”

These were the words that BT Sports commentators uttered as replays showed Josaia Raisuqe viciously stamping down on Osprey’s winger, Keelan Giles.

However, despite the clear evidence of violent conduct, the referee seemingly deemed the incident to only be worthy of a yellow card as there was not clear evidence that the player had stamped on Giles’ head.

Fortunate at that moment as he may have been, the 22-year-old was sent off later in the game and after citing commissioner Alberto Recaldini cited Raisuqe for the initial stamp, the Stade Francais winger has now been landed with a ten match ban.

Although Raisuqe is still in the early days of his career, the Fijian-born player is already building an unwanted reputation for ugly conduct having been suspended for 15 weeks in 2016 for an eye gouge on Munster’s CJ Stander.
