Marist College Ashgrove won promotion to Australia’s rugby premiership this week and their success was in no small way contributed to by their captain, a 16-year-old behemoth named Emosi Tuqiri.
At 6′ 3″ and 125kg, the prop has spent the last few months rampaging through mismatched opponents as he led his side on to glory this season. The Brisbane-based club has been the beneficiary of Tuqiri’s immense size and strength, in addition to his youthful speed and ball handling skills.
For those not already familiar with the man-boy from Marist, feast your eyes on this.

The loosehead certainly isn’t one to shy away from a tackle, especially since he is generally about half a man bigger and heavier than anyone he rumbles through or over.
Coming up against Tuqiri almost seems unfair, especially since it is clear that he is not just a human battering ram. The youngster is clearly in possession of a well-rounded set of rugby skills, which he can be seen utilising to great effect.
With several more years of growing to do, interested eyes are keen to see just how good he can become. Given that he also features for the school basketball team, it’s fair to say that there is certainly an athletic nature to the young prop.
More than just your stereotypical prop it seems.
