With the game fizzling out, and the final whistle seeming imminent, the Barbarians produced one last moment of magic to give all the neutrals at Twickenham something to cheer about.
Having started like a house on fire, the Barbarians exuded confidence throughout the first half, scoring two well worked tries to lead a lackluster All Blacks side 17-10 at the break. But after the restart and the introduction of a couple senior players, New Zealand seemed to take control of the game, scoring three relatively quick tries to build a commanding 31-17 lead.
With time on the clock having gone past the 80 minute mark, the Barbarians constructed one last set piece move that epitomises what Barbarian rugby is all about. The move started when soon to be Sharks flyhalf Rob Du Preez, place kicked the ball across the length of the field to Vince Aso near the touchline, who then kicked the ball forward, eventually landing in the hands of George Bridge who ran in to score his second of the evening and finish what was a very entertaining game of rugby.
