Reigning Champions Cup champions Saracens have taken an early lead in their Pool 3 away trip to the Scarlets after winger Nathan Earle broke the deadlock after 13 minutes.
With Saracens building pressure and beginning to press on the Scarlets line, England hopeful Alex Lozowski gifted Earle an easy try with a superb touch pass to send the winger over untouched.
Saracens need a win to secure a place in the knockout stages and Earle’s try gifted the visitors an early lead in Llanelli.
Referee Alexander Ruiz deliberated with TMO Eric Gauzins for a short while but ultimately ruled that Earle’s try would stand after Gauzins judged that Lozowski’s pass was flat instead of forward.
Saracens won the teams’ first match 44-26 at Allianz Park in October but at the time of writing trail 6-5 in the return leg at the Parc y Scarlets.
