Although his signing from rugby league has been clouded in controversy, Denny Solomona wasted no time in showing his value to his new team Sale Sharks by scoring a wonderful try against Northampton Saints on Friday evening.
Even though his team lost 24 – 5 to Northampton at Franklin’s Gardens, Solomona’s finish was truly impressive – where he beat two defenders to perfectly place the ball in the corner of the field.

Solomona has spent a large chunk of his fledging rugby league career with Castleford Tigers, who are now launching legal action against Sale Sharks, with Solomona walking out on the Super League team after only one year into his three year contract.
In a statement released by the club, chairman Steve Gill said:
“We have failed over the last couple of weeks to try to resolve matters without the formality of court proceedings.
“We have confidence that the legal system will bring out all of the facts and the truth. We are fighting this not just for Castleford Tigers but also for the integrity of all sports, including, of course, rugby union clubs.
“Our belief is that all contracts are sacrosanct in professional and amateur sports.”
Yet the furore has not affected Solomona’s performance on the field, even though is very new to the union code.
