Dublin’s St. Michael’s College stood down a Haka from Tauranga Boys College last Tuesday.
We have all become accustomed to the sight of the All Blacks performing the Haka twenty meters from the opposing team. Although many have debated whether or not opposing teams should be allowed advance into the ranks of the All Blacks as they performed the Haka, World Rugby fine any side that do so.
While teams at the World Cup seem to be adhering to the governing bodies regulations, in Dublin last Tuesday, New Zealand touring side Tauranga Boys College performed their Haka in the faces of St. Michael’s College.
The young Irish lads reciprocated and stood toe to toe with their kiwi opponents. The result was a moment that the players from St. Michaels will never forget.
