Will Addison attempted to put in a massive hit on Manu Tuilagi but ended up injured.
Although injury robbed Manu Tuilagi of the opportunity to play a significant role in England’s Grand Slam, the big centre has not missed the chance to make an impact upon the Premiership.
Indeed, since his return from injury, Tuilagi has demonstrated that he has not lost any of his power as he continues to brush aside opponents with a series of aggressive carries.
In order to stop him therefore, opponents have begun to close the space in front of Tuilagi by rushing up and attempting to stop the England international before he gains any momentum.
This is exactly what Sale’s Will Addison attempted to do today, flying out of the defensive line to put in a big hit on Tuilagi.
However, the Samoan born player was prepared for the challenge, lowering his body position in order to nullify the impact of Addison’s hit.
Consequently, the Sale winger ended up on the floor and having to go off for a head injury assessment.
Lesson no.1 for Will Addison – don’t try and put a big hit on Manu Tuilagi. He’s now gone off hurt. Manu’s a freak. #SALvLEI
