With time up and the scores still close at 15-17, Lions and Springbok fly-half Elton Jantjies produced a moment of magic to secure his side the bonus point.
The Lions began their tour of Australia with a tough encounter against an under pressure Western Force, who are still waiting to hear their fate regarding their Super Rugby status.
Johan Ackermann’s men toiled hard, but looked set to leave Perth with only the four points for a win. This was until after the final hooter, as Jantjies received the ball from a scrum penalty and danced his way through the Force defence to score an all important bonus point.
This win leaves the Lions firmly in control of the African Conferences, and second in the overall log.
The Johannesburg-based side will be hoping they can go one better this year, and win the competition after losing the final away to the Hurricanes last year.
