Watch: Brian O’Driscoll Says A Man With No International Experience Should Start For The Lions

Irish legend turned pundit Brian O’Driscoll thinks that a winger with no international experience should be starting in the Lions XV.

Speaking this week, Brian O’Driscoll acknowledged that Sam Warburton is now the heavy favourite to be selected as the Lions captain and stated that he very much agreed with that decision.

Now, turning his attention to which wingers should be included in Warren Gatland’s squad, O’Driscoll explained why he feels that Sale Sharks winger, Denny Solomona should be given a chance.

“I have to say, the more I watch of this guy Solomona, the bigger a fan I become. He has brilliant physicality to his game. He’s good aerially and he does all the simple things effectively.

“Yes, he may be lacking in a bit of experience but he brings that brute force that you’re going to need for an attritional game.”
