Super rugby has erupted onto our screens.
While many of us here in the northern hemisphere were burning our mouths with hot coffee as we began our commute to work, fans in the south were settling down to watch Super Rugby’s opening fixture.
With the defending champions first up, much was expected of the game between the Highlanders and the Blues, and boy did it deliver.
Although some have enjoyed the claustrophobic nature of this season’s Six Nations, Super Rugby once again delivered on it’s hype, with Ben Smith finishing off a fantastic try scoring move that began on the Highlanders 22.
The move saw some super handling from Matt Faddes and Waisake Naholo, who offloaded out of the tackle brilliantly to bring the Highlanders within touching distances of the try line. As a result, Smith had the easy job of finishing off a brilliant try scoring move.
Despite Smith’s fantastic score, the Highlanders suffered 33-31 defeat.
