Looks like Andy Goode might have had a tad too much to drink at the RPA Premiership Rugby Awards…
Former England international Andy Goode attended the Aviva Premiership Rugby awards this week and, speaking to the official Twitter account, he made a pretty sensational claim.
First stating that he was delighted to see his ‘son’ Alex Goode winning the RPA Premiership Player of the Year award, the retired fly half went on to state that he would be back next season.
Goode also claimed that he’s having absolutely none of preseason and that he hasn’t selected a club yet.
‘It will be my last year as a professional rugby player. Preseason’s looming, I will not do that. I will come back after preseason. I don’t know which club yet.’
At 36 years of age, it’s hard to know if Goode was serious or having a bit of fun but we can certainly live in hope.
