George Ford proved to be little more than a speed bump for Nathan Hughes.
Although many fans rightly praise George Ford’s attacking talents, his slight frame means that big opponents hold a massive weight advantage in man on man engagements.
This was certainly the case in the game between Wasps and Bath today, when 125kg Nathan Hughes stormed down Ford’s channel.
Surrendering 18cm and 41kg, Ford was always going to lose out to Hughes as the number 8 barrelled into him. Although Ford bravely attempted to stop Hughes, he proved to be little more than a speed bump.
