Charlie Faumuina floored the Crusaders winger this morning.
Although Charlie Faumuina is built like a massive prop forward, you shouldn’t let his size fool you. Despite weighing 130 Kg, Faumuina has the hands of a centre, and can step around even the quickest of defenders.
Consequently, when Steve Hansen unleashes the big tight head from the bench during the final quarter of test matches involving the All Blacks, Faumuina has the potential to cause havoc.
Earlier this season, Faumuina demonstrated his brilliant handling skills, power and all round attacking prowess against the Hurricanes.
However this morning we got to see his defensive capabilities, after he smashed Crusaders winger, Johnny McNicholl, with a monster hit.
In fact the impact of Faumuina’s hit was so great, McNicholl was immediately forced off the field of play and replaced by David Kaetau Havili.
Super Rugby fans loved Faumuina’s hit on twitter, applauding the tight head’s massive tackle.
